Giving A Fish, Releasing A Bird ● Sagishima
May 21st June 1st, 2023
Sagishima, Seto Naikai, Japan
Sunoe Elementary School, Sagishima. 1983.
A ten-day studio on and around the tiny island of Sagishima, Japan. We worked alongside students from The University of Tokyo, The University of Kyoto, & The University of Hiroshima. We participated in and analyzed the ecological/social rhythms of the island. At the conclusion, strategies for messing around with architecture for the purpose of increasing island capacity and happiness were presented to the islanders & the local government.
